Yaret+Anna V: Hair

The following piece of music is from the musical Hair, Music: Galt MacDermot, Lyrics: James Rado / Gerome Ragni. You can listen to it right HERE.

When Yaret gets excited, his hair floats, with a life of its own.

Yaret: (sing softly) Darling…

Gimme head with hair, long beautiful hair,
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen…

Gimme down to there hair, shoulder length or longer!
Here baby, there mama, everywhere daddy, daddy…

Yaret: (sings louder)Haaaaaair!
Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it, my hair!

Yaret: Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees!
Give a home to the fleas in my hair!

A home for fleas! A hive for the buzzing bees! A nest for birds! There ain’t no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my…

Yaret: (belts out) Haaaaaair!

Anna: Good morning, starshine. What are you doing?

Yaret: Errr… this ditty… is quite amusing…

Anna: OK, seriously, next time I pick the Netflix movie.

Really cute… 🙂 … a bit like Samson and Delilah… Seriously, if his hair was cut, would he have lost any power?

Well, you peer into the root, as always! 😀 In the Book I of the novel someone chops off his hair in the very first page of the story, as he lies unconscious, which makes him forget himself and his powers temporarily. Also, in the Book II he cuts off his hair as a gesture of mourning, which coincides with loss of magic – so yes, hair and magic are connected.

How does Yaret do it? Look so at home in front of a full-length mirror… hair flying in the breeze… belting out crazy songs. XD
His poses, his eyes, his hair… so much Wonderful!

Thanks a bunch, dear! You see, he is very gay, in general. Loves life, loves good fun, beauty in nature, others and himself. In other words – a true elf!
